Transition Town Dorchester (TTD) is looking for volunteers to help plant trees.
Members will be planting 70m of hedge at Castlefield in Dorchester on Sunday, December 5 from 2pm to 4pm.
Those who can lend a helping hand are asked to meet at the community farm at 2pm with a spade.
A spokesman for TTD said: "TTD has planted trees every year for the last 10 years, and this year we are planting 400 trees, donated by TCV, to coincide with National Tree Week.
"We will be supplementing the hedges planted last year. Hedges are crucial havens for wildlife, reservoirs of biodiversity, store carbon, suck nutrients and pollutants out of water, prevent soil erosion, to mention only some of their magic."
