Claire Seymour is the Green Party candidate for the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election.

Claire is the strategic lead for community safety for a large housing provider in the South West and she offers solutions and guidance on community safety strategies for its colleagues, customers, stakeholders and resolves complex cases of anti-social behaviour, county lines, drug dealing, domestic abuse, hate crime and ensures safeguarding is a priority.

She said: "Over the past 15 years I have worked for Hampshire Police as a Police Special Constable, Dorset Police as a media tone analyst, victim support, and I currently sit on one of Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner's scrutiny panels. I also sit on Hampshire safeguarding adults board, South West Domestic Abuse Forum and Dorset's Domestic Abuse Forum.

"I am dedicated to public service and to enhance my knowledge further, I graduated with a BSc Honours in public service. This was a unique course providing the skills and expertise to ensure strong governance and management of a public service.

"I have stood as a PCC candidate for Dorset because I want to use my skills and knowledge of Dorset communities, housing and policing to support and represent the local community. I'm here to listen and take action to help drive forward improvements that can make a real impact on keeping our area a safe place to live."

Claire's pledges for the future of Dorset include:

  • Tackling domestic abuse and sexual violence

  • Creating a sustainable police force
  • Supporting victims and witnesses of crime and anti-social behaviour
