Members of the Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge will be out and about on Saturday, March 12 collecting for Ukraine.

They will be in South Street, Dorchester, collecting funds to help people fleeing from the country.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge said: "So far, more than 1.5 million refugees have left Ukraine and entered many countries such as Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova.

"Rotary has volunteers at every border, 24 hours a day, along with a network of Rotarians in Ukraine itself who are providing much needed assistance first hand."

If you would like to donate remotely, you can pay into Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge Trust Fund, sort code 40-19-21 and account number 51236970.

They added: "All money collected will go towards supporting this much-needed effort and the club would like to thank all the people of Dorchester and the surrounding area in advance for their generosity."
