Valentine's Day is just around the corner but for those single, speed dating is coming to Dorchester and all in the name of a very worthy cause.

Meet the love of your life or just make new friends on Tuesday, February 15 at The Poet Laureate in Poundbury.

It's for all ages from 18 and will be raising money for Weldmar Hospicecare.

A spokesman for the Poet Laureate said: "The idea came from one of our lovely customers - a lady called Marie - and basically we will have gentleman sat at numbered tables and the ladies will move around at three-minute intervals.

"We are hoping to be super busy as proceeds from ticket sales will be going to the hospice."
