Temporary traffic lights remain at Dorchester's Maumbury Cross and Edward Road is still closed

Temporary lights are still in operation at Maumbury Cross following gas works, with Edward Road also closed.

Works carried out by SGN were due to be completed and traffic management lifted on Saturday, but due to a technical fault caused by damage during works, the permanent traffic lights at Maumbury Cross could not be restored.

A spokesman for Travel Dorset said: "Engineers are working on fixing the fault today (Tuesday), however, it has meant that temporary traffic management has been in operation over the weekend into today, Edward Road also remains closed at Weymouth Avenue for traffic management reasons.

"We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience."
