There's much free music to enjoy over the Easter weekend at St Peter's Church Dorchester.

On Good Friday 29 March at 6pm, there will be a performance of Faure's Requiem with Kevin Drewitt as baritone soloist and Music at St Peter's choral scholar, Helena Dougherty, as soprano soloist in the beautiful Pie Jesu.

Chris Dowie will accompany at the organ and Ian Davis is directing.

Alongside the Faure, a newly composed, short choral work will receive its premiere. 'Drop slow tears', by Natalie Burton, weaves the familiar hymn tune by Orlando Gibbons around repeated melodic ideas to create a truly meditative, plaintive and lyrical work. This is a free event, to which all are welcome.

There is more choral music on Easter Sunday, 31 March at St Peter's, with Choral Eucharist taking place at 10.30am.

You can expect a feast of joyful music, including Haydn's 'Little Organ Mass', William Harris's 'This joyful Eastertide' and Stanford's 'Ye choirs of new Jerusalem'. This event is also free and all are welcome to attend.
