A real Platinum Jubilee! Dorchester pulls out the stops to celebrate the Queen's 70 years of service

There was a wonderful, community atmosphere across Dorchester as the town celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The four-day bank holiday was filled with street parties, barbecues, picnics, live music, garden parties and so much more, creating such a wonderful atmosphere throughout the town.

The beacon in Salisbury Fields was lit on the Thursday evening, attracting a crowd to join in on this momentous occasion, after a residents and visitors packed into the Borough Gardens for a day in the sunshine with live music, activities and more,

Celebrations also took place in Pummery Square - where the barbecue smelt amazing - and in Brewery Square with live music and fun for all the family.

A big screen was also erected in the Borough Gardens to show the Party at the Palace for all to watch and enjoy together.

There was also a great gathering on Poundbury's Great Field, again with activities, a barbecue and a beautiful cake fit for a queen.

The celebrations came to a close with live music at The Club House, West Bexington, on Sunday evening with Julie Dunn and Friends.

Well done to everyone who organised events, it truly was a great celebration and was so lovely to see people coming together again.
