One person has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A35.

The A35 Puddletown bypass has been closed westbound due to the crash.

Travel Dorset report that two vehicles are involved and traffic is queuing between A354 Puddletown/Blandford turn off and the B3150 Stinsford Roundabout.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 8.52am of a two vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway of the A35 Puddletown bypass, near to the Troy Town junction.

"Officers attended along with the ambulance service and the fire service and road closures were put in place as emergency services respond to the incident.

"One person has been taken to hospital, we do not have an update on their condition at this time. The eastbound carriageway has now been reopened."

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

More on this as we have it.
