Acclaimed international composer and pianist Tamara Konstantin will be showcasing her work at a special concert alongside two of Dorset's finest composers, Rick Birley and Geof Edge.

Hosted by Dorchester Arts, the concert of immense musical talent will take place at St Mary's Church in Dorchester at 7:30pm on Saturday, 24 February,

Tamara Konstantin is one of the leading lights of England's contemporary classical scene, with compositions regularly played on Classic FM and over a million streams on Spotify.

She recently supported million-selling singer Aled Jones on a national tour of cathedrals and collaborated with the acclaimed cellist Jiaxin Lloyd Webber for a well-received album, Rêverie, released by the Naxos label.

Originally from Tbilisi, Georgia, the classically-trained pianist has lived in Weymouth for over two decades and draws great inspiration from the natural beauty of Dorset.

Tamara said: "Dorset has been my home for over 22 years and my love of it is reflected in my compositions.

"To perform alongside some of the finest composers in Dorset at a venue as special as St Mary's Church is a real privilege for me.

"There will be an enormous amount of homegrown talent on display so I hope everyone can join us for this special performance".

A real highlight for music fans, Tamara will be performing alongside fellow Dorset composers Rick Birley and Geof Edge who will all be showcasing original music.

Rick Birley has been writing music for over three decades, his compositions for the concert will feature intimate piano and solo violin, as well as larger works for the choir and orchestra.

Geof Edge will be familiar to those that attended the Moonbury Rings concert at the historic Maumbury Rings venue in Dorchester that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landings. Geof will be showcasing a piece called Points of Light, a fascinating work for choir and orchestra.

The performers will be backed by a hugely talented group of musicians that all share a Dorset connection, for what will be a memorable concert in a unique venue.

Due to the intimate nature of St Mary's Church, there are only 250 tickets available so book early to avoid disappointment.
