After a late postponement last year it has been confirmed the Dorset Hot Air Balloon Festival will be going ahead in 2024.

Concerns over the validity of the event from Dorset Agricultural Society which runs the Dorchester Showground, meant last year's planned event was cancelled.

But the landowners and event organisers have now reached an agreement and the festival is now scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 May.

A spokesperson for Extreme Events Ltd which runs the festival said: "We were delighted to go ahead after the original cancellation.

"An event like this is unique to anything else that Dorset has ever seen and we are so excited to bring it back - even better than originally planned.''

Opportunities will be offered to local people to showcase their arts and crafts at the festival market, as well as hot and cold food traders.

Local music artists will also be welcome to apply to perform at the event.

For more information and to purchase tickets, visit Extreme Events' webpage: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/extreme-events-ltd or check iut the festival on Facebook.
