Introducing the world to a new generation of Welsh music, Calan is bringing its rhythms and high energy routine to Dorchester this week.
In the band's first major post-lockdown tour it will showcase its critically-acclaimed new album Kistvaen. Recorded just before the pandemic, live performances of the album were suspended - until now.
A spokesman for Dorchester Arts said: "Expect intricate, captivating melodies and mesmerising harmonies underpinned with foot-stamping, crowd-pleasing rhythms.
"Calan's bewildering array of instruments includes guitars, fiddles, bagpipes, harps, accordions, vocals and, likely as not, world-class step and clog dancing. They have introduced a new generation to Welsh music - and continue to do so as they tour Europe, North America, Australia and Asia."
Calan will be performing at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday, April 15 from 8pm.
Tickets cost £16, or £14 for members, under 18s or those on low income and are available from dorchesterarts.org.uk or by calling 01305 266926.
