Residents in Dorchester will get the chance to learn about the work of the Citizens Advice Bureau – and how they can become one of its advisors – via an event being staged in the town centre at the weekend.

The charity will be hosting a stall outside Barclays Bank in South Street from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday, October 21.

On hand will be volunteers, trustees and staff members who will be giving out information about the organisation, what it does to help local people and sharing their own stories.

If you can't wait until Saturday, you can find out more about the CAB and its Dorset Central branch via this link. You can also call 0800 1448848, which is also the number to call if you are seeking advice.

The Central Dorset branch is currently seeking people to become trustees, and is looking for a new treasurer and chairman, as well as a range of volunteer roles.

A spokesperson from the branch said: "Citizens Advice is an independent charity service providing free, confidential and impartial advice to everybody regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, religion and belief.

"People from all backgrounds with a range of skills and experience are welcomer as training will be provided."
