Changes announced to Dorchester Arts' events after damage to roof of Herrison Hall

Some changes to Dorchester Arts' autumn programme of events have been announced.

Despite delays to building works at the Corn Exchange, the team at Dorchester Arts worked to maintain an autumn programme by moving many existing shows to other venues in and around Dorchester.

Unfortunately, one of those venues - Herrison Hall - has had to temporarily close following damage to its roof.

The team has managed to relocate shows due to be staged at Herrison Hall and all tickets have been transferred to the new venues and dates.

Dorchester Arts is set to welcome audiences back to the Corn Exchange in early December with a line-up of festive and celebratory events.

Here's what events are taking place:

  • Wednesday, October 6 - Tenebrae: Drop, Drop Slow Tears at St Mary's Church
  • Saturday, October 9 - Mary Anning: Lost in Time (AsOne Theatre) at Sunninghill Hall
  • Sunday, October 10 - Lawrence After Arabia (film) at the Plaza cinema
  • Friday, October 15 - Bryon Wallen's Four Corners at Dorset Museum
  • Sunday, October 17 - Budapest Café Orchestra at St Mary's Church
  • Rescheduled to April 29, 2022 - The Unraveling Wilburys at the Corn Exchange
  • Saturday, October 30 - Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman at Dorset Museum
  • Friday, November 5 - Jenny Éclair (details to be confirmed)
  • Sunday, November 7 - Ninebarrow at St Mary's Church
  • Sunday, November 14 - Tea at The Dorchester Town Fall (fundraiser)
  • Saturday, December 4 - Moscow Drug Club at the Corn Exchange
  • Wednesday, December 8 - Opus Anglicanum: Mediaeval Carols at St Mary's Church
  • Friday, December 10 - Mad Dog McRea at the Corn Exchange
  • Saturday, December 11 - The Nativity (Living Spit) at the Corn Exchange
  • Tuesday, December 14 - The Mayor of Casterbridge (New Hardy Players) at Dorset Museum
  • Wednesday, December 15 - The Mayor of Casterbridge (New Hardy Players) at Dorset Museum
  • Friday, December 17 - Five Star Swing at Christmas at the Corn Exchange
  • Saturday, December 18 - Morgan & West's Great Big Christmas Magic Show! at the Corn Exchange
