Hundreds of people came out to wave and cheer on Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley on as he cycled through Dorchester today (Wednesday).

Business owners, school children, shoppers, residents and visitors lined the streets to see him go through the town, Poundbury and onto Bridport.

He is on an epic endurance challenge - Tom's Hell of a Homecoming - in aid of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day, in which he is cycling, rowing, running and swimming to his hometown Plymouth from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

And he passed through Dorchester around 12noon today (Wednesday) when crowds cheered and waved the diver on for the final leg of his journey.

He came in on London Road from the Puddletown direction and cycled up High East Street and High West Street, past Dorset County Hospital, through the Butter Market and back on to the A35 to go towards Bridport.

He stopped off at The Coach House Inn in Winterbourne Abbas for a break.
