West Dorset is again very well represented in the Dorset Tourism Awards, with finalists now announced.

This year's awards - which highlights the county's rich tourism sector - have 54 finalists, as well as eight with commended status.

The finalists include:

Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year

  • South Lychett Manor Caravan and Camping Park

Glamping Business of the Year

  • The Yurt at Hollands Farmhouse

Large Visitor Attraction of the Year

  • Dorset Museum

New Tourism Business Award

  • The King's Arms
  • Commended - Apex Expeditions, Poundbury
Pub of the Year
  • The Acorn Inn, Evershot
Resilience and Innovation Award
  • Sculpture by the Lakes, Pallington
Self-catering Accommodation of the Year
  • Greenwood Grange Holidays
Small Visitor Attraction of the Year
  • Sculpture by the Lakes, Pallington
The awards ceremony will take place on February 10 when businesses will find out whether they have won gold, silver, bronze or a special award. Winners of the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award, Apprenticeship Special Award, Outstanding Contribution to Dorset Tourism, Tourism Event/Festival of the Year, Visitor Information Service of the Year and Winner of Winners will be announced at the awards event. A spokesman for Sculpture by the Lakes said: "Super proud that we are finalists in two categories for this year's Dorset Tourism Awards. The Small Visitor Attraction category and the Resilience and Innovation category. "Such amazing work from all our team over the past year." A full list of finalists can be found here. Awards organiser Robin Barker, of Services for Tourism, said: "Despite everything that has been thrown at them, the awards once again demonstrate the quality, innovation and resilience of leading tourism businesses.
