Dorchester celebrates its business community at annual awards
Dorchester business Honey Asset Finance celebrated sweet success at the Dorchester Business Awards this week, taking home three prizes.
The third successful Dorchester Business awards were held on Thursday afternoon at the The King's Arms, attend by about 70 local business leaders.
They enjoyed networking over tea and coffee before a buffet in the hotel's restaurant, after which the awards were presented in celebratory spirit, with many winners speaking about overcoming the pandemic.
The winners celebrated their success alongside the Mayor of Dorchester, Cllr Janet Hewitt, who congratulated all and paid tribute to the important part that local businesses play in the community.
"We owe a lot to Dorchester businesses that do so much for the community," she said.
Honey Asset Finance Ltd, based in Poundbury, was named Overall Business of the Year, having also picked up the Business to Business Award, and its director Cameron Small was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Other winners were as follows: Best Use of Digital Innovation - Shire Hall Museum; Independent Business of the Year - jointly win by Dodgson's of Dorchester and Basilico; Green/Eco Business of the Year - The Rhubarb Candle Company; New Business of the Year - The West Dorset Magazine; Best Customer Service - Maraki; Retail Business of the Year - Jordans Jewellers; Family Business of the Year - Sprint Digital Print; Cafe, Pub & Casual Dining Award - Pavilion in the Park; Best Place to Work - Purple Office; Health & Fitness Business of the Year - The Highbrow Skin and Laser Clinic.
Awards organiser Nigel Reeve said: "Local businesses are the backbone of the UK economy and its great to celebrate and promote the fantastic range we have here in Dorchester."
