Music at St Peter's will present a special Good Friday performance of John Stainer's 'The Crucifixion' next week.

The concert will be held at St Peter's Church in Dorchester town centre, at 6pm on Friday, April 7.

Tenor soloist Colin Howard, who will be well known to local music lovers as conductor of the Dorchester Choral Society, along with the bass Stefan Oakes – a rising star in the classical music scene in this area – will be performing.

Chris Dowie will be accompanying at the organ and Ian Davis directs.

As the performance is offered as an act of worship, admission is free and all welcome.

Organisers said: "We can't think a better way to make a reflective start to the Easter weekend and hope you can join us."
