Charity Leonard Cheshire is offering a group for people to connect and socialise.

The Discover and Connect Social Group held in Dorchester invites community members to be creative, be inspired, have a cup of tea and make new connections.

A spokesman for Leonard Cheshire said: "Our inclusive social group helps connect and inspire people who live with any kind of disability or/and are socially isolated.

"Our group is led by volunteers and includes a chance to get involved in creative projects, storytelling and themed workshops on all things linked with nature, local history and creative. We are also looking for people who would love to share their life stories with other group members.

"We can also offer an online version of our social group or a telephone chat group. We can offer IT help to group members who would like to learn more about getting online."

The group currently meets on the second and fourth Friday of each month at the Dorchester Community Church café, Liscombe Street, Poundbury, from 2pm to 4pm. Refreshments are provided for a minimum £3 donation for each session to help with the running costs of the group.

Transport to the meetings can be arranged on request.

For more than 70 years, Leonard Cheshire has been supporting disabled people, opening doors to opportunities and breaking down barriers that deny disabled people their basic rights.
