More than £8,000 has been raised for Dorchester-based Weldmar Hospicecare, thanks to Dorset holiday parks.

Waterside Holiday Group has managed to raise the impressive sum through fundraising efforts over the past year.

Donations have been collected at each of the company's Dorset holiday parks during various owner and guest events throughout 2021. A dedicated fundraising drive also took part earlier this year as staff took part in a 24-mile trek from Golden Cap to Waterside Holiday Group's Chesil Vista Holiday Park in Weymouth.

Allen Main, Waterside's group general manager, said: "Weldmar Hospicecare is a hugely respected charity in Dorset and we're pleased to have played a part in helping them continue their fantastic work in our community.

"We wouldn't have been able to raise the sum we did without the hard work of our employees and generosity of our guests and owners, so we'd like to thank everyone for their efforts this year."

Waterside Holiday Group has been supporting Weldmar for the past three years across its Dorset-based parks - Waterside Holiday Park and Spa, Chesil Vista and Osmington.
