Dorchester planning latest

TWO Dorchester schools have been told they can go ahead with their plans for solar panels on some of their buildings – reducing energy costs.

Dorset Council has decided that neither the town's senior school, or one of its first schools, needs full planning permission and can go ahead.

The proposals for the school site and other recent, decided, applications can be seen by following the references provided on the Dorset Council website.

P/PASO/2025/01614 : Thomas Hardye School Queens Avenue Dorchester DT1 2ET. Installation of Solar Photovoltaics (PV) equipment on the roofs of the school. Prior Approval Not Required

P/PASO/2025/01529 : Damers First School Liscombe Street Poundbury Dorchester DT1 3DF. Installation of solar panels on the roof of the school. Prior Approval Not Required
