Children and families enjoyed Punch & Judy shows at Love Parks Day in Borough Gardens, Dorchester

Borough Gardens in Dorchester was a hive of community activity on Thursday for Love Parks Day.

Part of the national Love Parks Week initiative, the event was officially opened by the Mayor of Dorchester, Cllr Alistair Chisholm.

It included stalls and activities led by community organisations, Punch & Judy shows, face painting and a bouncy castle for the kids. There was also performances by Just Dance and music from local radio station KeeP 106.

Run by Keep Britain Tidy, Love Parks Week celebrates green spaces, as well as the dedicated volunteers and workers who look after them.

Nationally, the 2023 campaign is focussing on how parks can be made safer for women and girls.
