Dorset Art Weeks is now underway, with hundreds of artists taking part.

Now in its 30th year, the event takes place until May 29 and includes painters, sculptors, textile artists, photographers, ceramicists, jewellers and more exhibiting their works in galleries across the county.

For 2022, the event reverts back to six regions to help audiences navigate the local area and venues are open 10am to 5pm, unless otherwise stated in the printed guide, online or on the Dorset Art Weeks app.

More than 250 venues are hosting artists and include open studios, public art trails, group shows, galleries and public spaces.

In Dorchester, this includes a collective exhibition titled 'It's Up to Us' led by Casterbridge Art Society, which has created the umbrella group of Art in Poundbury. Creatives from Artwey, Dorchester Camera Club, 3Cs Calligraphy and new and established artists, sculptors, photographers, textile artists, stone masons, jewellers and more are taking part, along with pupils from Damers First School.

There are also a range of special events taking place alongside the art weeks.
