A DRINKS licence for a wine bar and art gallery is being requested for a Dorchester premises.

The application has been made to Dorset Council for a building at the Market Hall, Crown Square, Poundbury. It comes from Mr Angelo Fichera who is telling the council that he would like to be able to serve alcoholic drinks in the main hall, the two side wings and under the front portico.

The application also covers live and recorded music although Mr Fichera says this will mainly be recorded music, at a 'modest volume' in the background, low enough to allow customers to have a conversation.

The application asks for the sale of alcohol from 9am until 11pm daily, although the application says the business opening hours will be 9am until 9pm.

Public comments on the application remain open until September 19th.
