This April, the Shire Hall Museum in Dorchester is hosting family-friendly events inspired by its current exhibition The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition, originated by Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children's Books, features facsimiles of original artwork, notes and sketches from the famous children's book.

The exhibition also offers children the opportunity to step into Sophie's kitchen and meet a life-size tiger.

Inspired by the exhibition, Shire Hall Museum is hosting Tiger Clay Workshops and Tea with a Tiger, both sponsored by Battens Solicitors.

A spokesperson from Battens said: "Battens Solicitors is proud to be a long-time supporter of local arts and community groups in Dorchester and we are delighted to be able to sponsor the family activities which form part of this creative exhibition at the Shire Hall.

"The Tiger who came to Tea is a much loved book which many of us remember with great fondness and which new generations will also be able to discover and enjoy through this innovative event."

Tiger Clay Workshop

On Saturday, April 8, Shire Hall Museum is hosting a clay making workshop with Creative Clay.

Families can make their own tiger to take home, using air drying clay.

The Tiger Clay workshops are £2 per child and will be taking place from 10am – 1pm. There's no need to book- just drop in on the day and get creative!

Tea With a Tiger

Join the museum on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 for Tea with a Tiger – a brilliant afternoon for all the family.

Tuck into a delicious selection of tea-time treats, including sandwiches, homemade cupcakes and cookies, all in the company of our friendly tiger. After enjoying afternoon tea, families will have the opportunity to visit The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition at Shire Hall Museum.
