Dorchester's newly refurbished Hardye Theatre's first performance has been announced.

Acclaimed singers Spooky Men's Chorale will make a rare return to Dorchester and perform on Thursday, August 4.

A spokesman said: "Anyone who has seen and heard this amazing group perform will know what to expect - and those who have not, really need t experience these incredible singers and their unique brand of beauty and stupidity.

"Armed with no more than their voices, a nice line in deadpan and an ill-matched set of hats, the Spooky men have been gleefully disturbing audiences everywhere since 2001 with pin drop beautiful ballads, highly inappropriate covers and a swag of original songs. Don't miss it.

"This will be a special evening for Dorchester Arts as it is the first performance to take place at the Hardye Theatre at Dorchester's Thomas Hardye School.

"Following a £1.35million refit over the last few months, the new 400 seat theatre will see Dorchester Arts bringing bigger name acts to this venue, as part of its commitment to providing a better performing arts offer to Dorset's county town."

Tickets are available here.
