The Royal Voluntary Service offer a friendly Home Library Service for those unable to visit their local library

Residents in the Dorchester area can benefit from the Royal Voluntary Service's Home Library Service, bringing books direct to your front door.

Working with Dorset Library Service, volunteers can deliver books for free for people who enjoy reading but are unable to get to their local library due to poor health, mobility issues or caring responsibilities. Audio books are also available via this service.

Volunteers can select reading materials based on your individual taste and preference. They also act as a friendly, familiar face and provide a useful check on your safety and wellbeing.

For more information on this service, ask at your local library or call the Royal Voluntary Service on 01305 236666 or email [email protected], or contact Dorset Library Service on 01305 225000 or email [email protected] or visit dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/libraries
