As some shoppers struggle to purchase eggs amid rationing at major supermarkets, Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock has come to the rescue.

Some major supermarkets and other retailers are currently rationing egg sales due to supply issues caused by the outbreak of avian flu and rising costs to poultry farmers.

Following its ethos of 'Buy Local, Eat Local, Support Local', the Hive Beach Café is selling locally-produced eggs in its farm shop at Burton Bradstock, for £1.80 for a pack of six (with the purchase of other Hive products).

Pop in to purchase your eggs while stocks last and you can also take the opportunity to peruse Hive's wide selection of local produce, unique gifts and Christmas hampers.

You can also shop for gifts online this Christmas at www.hivebeachcafe.co.uk/shop

The Hive Beach Café is open everyday during December, from 10am to 3.30pm, except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, serving fresh, locally and ethically-sourced produce with a focus on fish and seafood.

As well as the usual breakfast and lunch menus, Hive Beach Café is currently offering a Credit Crunch Lunch with two courses for just £20 or three for £25.
