Holiday camp plan put forward in planning applications
HOLIDAY business applications feature in new proposals to Dorset Council in the area around Dorchester.
They include two notifications about temporary campsites – at Ringstead and on the southern outskirts of the county town.
Among the planning applications, recently submitted, is an application for 26 solar panels on the roof of the café/shop at Ringstead.
At Abbotsbury another attempt is being made to convert the first floor and extend the café at Abbey Barn while at Silverlake, Crossways there are new developments proposed for the Laverack Lakeside & Reddington Rise areas of the holiday homes complex.

P/HABR/2024/06156 : Ringstead Farm Ringstead Dorchester DT2 8NF. Notification of intention to hold temporary camp site from 23 May to 9 June and 22 July to 1 September 2025 for 60 days.
P/PARC/2024/05986 : Dewflock Farm Winterborne Monkton Dorchester DT2 8NP: Notification of intention to hold camping on site for a maximum of 50 tents 23-26 May, 18-20 July, 25-27 July,1-3 August, 8-10 August, 14-17 August and 22-24 August 2025 (23 days).
