Hub Box is proving popular with burger lovers in Dorchester.

Operations Manager Roxanne Collis told Nub News that the restaurant has been at capacity numerous times this week since the grand opening on Sunday 16th October.

As reported recently, Hub Box is making its Dorset debut with the new restaurant on Brewery Square.

The coastal surf-themed restaurant seats 120 people and has created 25 full-time and part-time jobs.

Roxanne gave an update on how the first few days have been, saying: "It has been amazing. I can't actually believe how busy we have been so far. The last couple of days have just been crazy. We were at capacity two or three times last night.

"Considering the team hasn't worked in a Hub Box before they have done really well. The biggest challenge can be finding the right people and keeping everyone engaged throughout the opening. Unless you have a store where you can do training and interview days it is hard to sell your company to employees when all you can show them is an empty shell. Now we are fully staffed which is usually quite difficult because recruitment in hospitality is tough these days."

"The biggest challenge is finding the right team and trusting that we can open without doing any training," she added.

The team have had to find their feet quick at the new restaurant on Brewery Square.

Hub Box on Brewery Square is the first branch into Dorset with Roxanne saying the move "makes sense" for the company having opened restaurants in Cornwall, Devon, Portsmouth, and Cheltenham.

She continued: "Dorset has a couple of locations that would be amazing for us. It just so happened that this building was available at the time. It is listed, with gorgeous windows, we definitely couldn't pass it up.

"There are not many places you can go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night cocktails. I can't see many places where you can get a really good cocktail that's made from fresh ingredients. We are not your standard burger restaurant, we are so much more than that."
