Jubilee celebrations continue with even more events today

By Lottie Welch 5th Jun 2022

Celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee continued across Dorchester yesterday (Saturday), with even more set to take place today.

The weather stayed fine and people came out in red, white and blue to enjoy picnics, street parties and barbecues.

Fordington Green was filled with people, with people bringing cream teas and treats, many enjoyed a barbecue and music at Pummery Square in the sunshine and many families took to the Borough Gardens where a big screen was set up to show the Party at the Palace.

It was another day of community spirit and people coming together to enjoy the celebratory atmosphere. See more photos on our Facebook page.

And there’s more to come.

Here’s what is taking place today:

Sunday:

·      The Club House - music, cocktails and food from 3.30pm

·      Street party in Salisbury fields

·      Celebration picnic at Poundbury Great Field from 12noon
