Lastest Dorchester planning applications and decisions

PLANNING applications across villages around Dorchester have been granted approval, including new developments and home improvements.
In Cerne Abbas, permission has been given for alterations at 4 Sydling Road (P/HOU/2025/01683). The plans include single-storey extensions to the front and side, the creation of first-floor accommodation with rooflights, dormer windows, a balcony, and an external staircase.
In Cheselbourne, Nettlecombe Farm (P/FUL/2024/07615) will see the demolition of its existing dwelling to make way for a new home and car port. The application also includes landscaping works and a change of use from agricultural to residential land.
In Tolpuddle, two properties have received planning consent. At 21 Main Road (P/HOU/2025/03368), the front and rear porches will be demolished and replaced with a glazed sunroom and a single-storey extension, alongside external alterations while at West Farm Barn (P/LBC/2025/03991), listed building consent has been granted for the installation of an oil-fired boiler and a new flue pipe through the north external wall.
In Piddlehinton, 2 The Long House on London Row (P/HOU/2025/03180) has been given the green light for a single-storey extension to its existing detached garage.

ADDITIONAL treatment facilities are being planned for the Buckland Newton Water Recycling Centre at Duntish.
The proposal is among the latest submitted to Dorset Council for the rural area around Dorchester.
Other proposals include the retention of a replacement pedestrian footbridge at Portesham and floodlights for a training area.

Buckland Newton ( P/ESC/2025/03400) – A request for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Opinion for the extension of Buckland Newton Water Recycling Centre, located in Duntish (DT2 7DG), to accommodate additional treatment facilities.
Charminster ( P/CLE/2025/03073) – A certificate of lawfulness was refused for repair works at Hintock Farm, Wolfeton, following storm damage. The works included the installation of a steel portal frame and concrete block walls within the building's outer skin. The site is located on Eweleaze Road (DT2 7SG).
Portesham ( P/FUL/2025/02933) Planning permission has been granted for the retained use of a replacement pedestrian footbridge at Portesham Dairy Farm Camp Site, Bramdon Lane (DT3 4HG).
Piddlehinton ( P/FUL/2024/02798) Approval has been given to retain four floodlights on the training arena at Carters Barn Farm, accessed via the road to Carters Barn Farm (DT2 7TH).
Frampton ( P/HOU/2025/03627) – Single-storey side extension with roof lanterns at 4 Dorchester Road (DT2 9NB) has been granted. The works include demolition of the existing single-storey extension and conservatory.
Hazelbury Bryan ( P/HOU/2025/03649) – Planning permission has been granted for a single-storey side extension with balcony, along with two dormer windows and external alterations at Sunny View, Pleck Hill, Pleck (DT10 2EG).
Forston ( P/PADM/2025/04384) – Prior approval was not required for the demolition of agricultural buildings on land and buildings at Watcombe Bottom, located off the A352 between Herrison Lane and Frys Lane.
Cattistock ( P/LBC/2025/03318) – Listed building consent has been granted for internal remedial repair works at Culvers, The Square, following flood damage (DT2 0HY).
