By Trevor Bevins - Local Democracy Reporter   2nd Oct 2025

PLANS submitted to Dorset Council for villages around Dorchester include a mix of residential upgrades, agricultural development, and infrastructure changes.

In Cerne Abbas, two homeowners are seeking permission for property enhancements. At 15 Abbey Street (P/HOU/2025/05358), plans have been lodged to re-roof the original house, while at 11 Chescombe Close ( P/HOU/2025/05475), a single-storey rear extension is proposed.

In Broadmayne, a resident at 23 Watergates Lane (P/HOU/2025/05332) has applied to install an air source heat pump on the rear (north) elevation of the property.

A more substantial change is proposed at West Fossil Farm House, near West Fossil (P/PAAC/2025/05433), where the applicant is seeking to convert a former agricultural building into a residential home under Class Q permitted development rights with a zinc roof (illustration).

In Maiden Newton, a modest infrastructure improvement is planned for land off Bull Lane (P/FUL/2025/05311), where a single parking bollard and a bin screen store for five wheeled bins are proposed, along with associated groundworks.

At Clover Farm in Portesham (P/PABA/2025/05463), the applicant is looking to erect a yard covering.

In Toller Porcorum, a proposal has been submitted for The Red House on Higher Kingcombe Road (P/HOU/2025/05201), where the existing garage and turning area would be replaced with a carport, attached store, and new turning space.

All applications are currently under consideration by Dorset Council's planning department and open to public comment using the references provided.
