LATEST holiday-related planning proposals in the rural Dorchester area include notification of a temporary campsite at Owermoigne and plans for a Tipi-based temporary restaurant at Silverlake.

A maximum of 50 camping pitches are planned for Moignes Court, Moreton Road between July 22 and September 1st.

The application has been submitted to ensure it complies with nitrogen neutrality conditions relating to water courses leading into Poole Harbour.

The other holiday-related proposals include a temporary restaurant at the Silverlake holiday home development on the edge of Crossways, based around a former gravel and sand quarry site.

The developers, Habitat First Group, are plannning to use three Tipis joined together as a seating/dining area with temporary buildings for the canteen, bar and loos – all of the structures to be re-used elsewhere on the lakeside site once the temporary use comes to an end in 2026 when its more permanent catering plans come into operation.

The proposals include a large decking area into the lake with screening provided by woven hurdles. (pic – site layout & Tipi restaurant).
