Man arrested after drugs bag find

A man has been arrested following discovery of a discarded bag in the Dorchester area containing large amount of suspected drugs.

The 26-year-old man, from Weymouth, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of class A and class B drugs and a money laundering offence.

This is in connection to a bag found in Poundbury on Friday, July 14 containing a large amount of cash in addition to the suspected drugs.

He was arrested on Wednesday, 22 November at around 1.30pm in the Weymouth Park District.

He has been released under investigation and police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: "Officers arrested a male on suspicion of drugs supply offences and money laundering.

"This follows the previous discovery of a discarded bag in Poundbury by Neighbourhood Officers.

"The bag was found to contain a large quantity of suspected drugs and cash.

"The male has since been released under investigation whilst further enquiries are made."
