With less than two weeks to go until the return of the Dorset County Show, organisers are anticipating more than 60,000 visitors across the show weekend.

Taking place on September 3 and 4, the show will eb held at the Dorchester Showground at Cokers Frome.

The Dorset County Show showcases excellence in agriculture and a wide spectrum of rural life. This includes supporting local artisans, farmers and producers such as Jurassic Coast Farm Shop.

James Sealey is the manging director of the farm shop and is a second generation farmer at Fossil Farm in Winfrith Newburg, Dorchester.

James has traded at the Dorset County Show of three previous occasions, having attended the event since he was a young boy and now enjoys taking his three children to the show every year. James and his team will be attending this year's show with a selection of local meats, cheeses and vegetables available to purchase.

James said: "Our farm shop has evolved to offer an alternative shopping experience to deliver the finest and freshest produce at affordable prices from the countryside straight to your door. We stock our own grass-fed, free range Aberdeen Angus beef on our family farm, as well as other free-range meats, sustainably sourced fish, local cheeses, fruit and vegetables.

"I am looking forward to this year's show and talking to people about our products. The best thing about selling our own cooked food is telling customers about how their food was produced and reared on our family farm. The show is also a great family-friendly day out, with the opportunity for the community to come together to catch up with friends, old and new, often over a beer in the member's pavilion."

The show has been arranged by the Dorchester Agricultural Society (DAS) for more than 180 years. It includes a full programme of events and attractions across the two days, including the main ring events, 6,000 exhibits and trade stands which include shopping at The Avenue, and local artisan food and drink.

Nicki Ralph, chairman of DAS, said: "The show team has been busy preparing for this year's show, which is well underway to being an event to remember.

"We're all really looking forward to welcoming the community back to enjoy the show and support local businesses after the two-year unavoidable break. The team has curated a programme of events that the public know and love, as well as introducing some new events and activities which we hope all will enjoy."

The show this year includes a quiz trail, starting in the 'Fabulous Food and Farming Zone'. The trail is free to enjoy and encourages families to experience all the show has to offer while learning about food and farming along the way. Questions can be found in the show programme.

Advance tickets are available to purchase online at £21 or on the day. Children under 16 years enjoy free entry.
