Police investigating a burglary at a Dorchester restaurant are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The Kao San Thai Restaurant in High West Street was broken into between 9pm on Sunday, March 28 and 9am on Monday, March 29. It is believed entry was gained through the rear of the premises, which backs onto Princes Street.

A till drawer containing a small amount of loose change was stolen and a black and white bicycle was also taken from the rear of the property.

Police Constable Dave Ash, of Dorchester police, said: "We are carrying out enquiries into this burglary and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

"I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area on the night of Sunday, March 28 or who may have captured something relevant on home CCTV or dashcam footage."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210049304. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call Freephone 0800 555 111.
