Police appeal after serious injury crash in Dorchester

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision in Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.13pm on Wednesday 12 January 2022 of a collision involving a white Mercedes van, a red Toyota Aygo and a black Peugeot 208 on the A35 near to the Stinsford roundabout.

The male driver of the Toyota sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The female driver of the Peugeot, aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The Mercedes van driver was not physically injured.

Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to treat the injured people and safely respond to the incident. The road reopened at around 4pm.

Police Constable Simon Hatch, of the traffic unit, said: "I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and witnessed the collision, or moments leading up to it, to please come forward.

"I am particularly keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on a dashcam.

"Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the closures were in place. These were absolutely necessary to allow us to carry out a thorough examination of the scene."
