A WARNING has been issued by police in Dorchester about anti-social behaviour in rural parts of the region.

There have been reports of anti-social behaviour in Puddletown Forest and on the Riverwalks.

A statement from Dorset Police said: "Dorchester Police Neighbourhood Team will work with other partnership bodies to discuss how we can work together to reduce anti-social behaviour.

"Please consider others when using the forest and take note of any signage, which has been placed to make the environment safe for everyone to use."

PC Brotherton & PCSO Donnison met with an employee and volunteer from Forestry England at Puddletown Forest

The Dorchester Neighbourhood Team have also been conducting patrols along the Riverwalks in Dorchester, due to increased reports of birds and wildlife being injured by individuals with catapults.

The statement added: "Should you witness this kind of offence, please report at the time via 999 /101 as this is a crime.

"We will continue to monitor and engage with the local community to resolve the ongoing issues."
