A mass power outage is affecting areas of Dorchester and Poundbury.

Travel Dorset has warned that some traffic lights may not be working and is advising drivers to take care through junctions where lights aren't working and allow pedestrians time to cross.

Southern and Scottish Electricity Networks report a fault in DT1, DT2, DT3 and DT4 areas.

A spokesman said: "We're sorry for the loss of supply.

"Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.

"If you need more information, please call us on 105 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter - @ssencommunity - and quote reference HA9686."

It is hoped power will be restored between 5.15pm and 7.30pm.
