UPDATE: Accident cleared on A35 both ways near The Coach House Inn.

Motorists have been urged to avoid Winterbourne Abbas after a car overturned.

Images shared on social media show police, fire, and ambulance on the scene this afternoon (27th) around 3:40pm.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Fire Station said people were trapped as a result of the collision, "please try to avoid the area due to long tailbacks as the road is currently closed," they said.

A latest traffic update from Dorset Police reads: "A35 both ways partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident, a vehicle leaving the carriageway involved near The Coach House Inn. Affecting traffic between Poundbury and Askerswell."
