Popular Dorchester attraction, Sculpture by the Lakes, picked up four awards at this year's Dorset Tourism Awards.

Awards day was a bit different this year, which was held online over five sessions yesterday (Thursday) but 61 awards were presented in 22 categories.

Sculpture by the Lakes, in Pallington, received the bronze award in the ethical, responsible and sustainable tourism category, along with Bridport Tourist Information Centre, as well as silver for small visitor attraction of the year - which Dorset Falconry Park got a commended award for - as well as two more silvers in tourism event/festival of the year and the tourism innovation award.

Simon Gudgeon, of Sculpture by the Lakes, said: "We are all absolutely thrilled to be recognised like this, to have won silver and bronze this year is testimony to the hard work of all the team here at Sculpture by the Lakes, as well as our fantastic visitors who have supported us over the last 12 months.

"We are delighted - thank you!"

The accommodation was awarded silver in the self-catering accommodation of the year category.

Robin Barker, awards organiser, said: "It would have been very easy to cancel the awards this year - we did think long and hard about it, but the level of early entries we received in spite of everything, and the creativity and determination shown by entrants inspired us to find a way to make this happen - and your responses and feedback ever since have completely blown us away."
