A special screening of Lawrence: After Arabia is coming to Dorchester's Plaza Cinema as part of the Director's Cut Tour this May.

This is likely to be one of the only screenings of the multi-award-winning full length feature film in Dorset during 2022, along with Portland and Wareham.

The film, showing on May 11, will be introduced by the director and followed by a Q&A.

Filming for Lawrence: After Arabia took place in some Dorset locations and was completed in June 2019. The film's release was delayed by Covid but held its premiere on October 9, 2021 at Lighthouse, Poole Centre for the Arts.

The film is the story of the last years of T.E. Lawrence, a scholar, writer, soldier and reluctant hero. Retiring to his cottage in Dorset, he hopes to escape his past but is pulled into political intrigue. While he has powerful friends, he has made dangerous enemies.

As they plot against him, he dies in a tragic motorcycle accident. However, with such enemies, was his untimely death an assassination and cover up by the British Secret Service?

The film stars Brian Cox, Hugh Fraser, Michael Maloney, Nicole Ansari Cox and Tom Barber-Duffy in the title role.

Tickets for the screening can be booked here.
