More than 20 gardens will be open to the public in Sutton Poyntz

Residents in the village of Sutton Poyntz, near Weymouth, will be opening their gardens to the public over the weekend of June 17 and 18.

The Open Gardens weekend was last held in the village in 2015 and organisers are hoping to repeat its success this weekend, with funds raised going to Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK.

For £5 per person, you will be able to enjoy 21 diverse gardens across the village, with a programme available on the day offering brief details and the location of each garden.

There will be also refreshments, a plant stall and a scarecrow trail. Free parking is available off Plaisters Lane.

The gardens will be open from 12noon until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

You can find out more about the village itself at http://www.suttonpoyntz.org.uk/
