Dorset County Hospital has been given planning permission for a temporary dialysis unit.

The hospital says the portable building will allow for an expansion of the service to meet current demand and in the short-term could be used as an isolation unit for any dialysis patients who are COVID-19 positive, if needed.

The building will be out to use on the south of the hospital close to the existing dialysis unit and could be on site for up to five years.

Drawings submitted with the application suggest the unit would be able to treat up to eight patients at a time.

The building will be grey to blend in with its surroundings with white, upvc windows and doors.
