Five pubs in and around Dorchester are some of the best in the UK, according to beer connoisseurs.

The Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide 2022 is here and features The Giant, Cerne Abbas; Convivial Rabbit micropub; The Thimble Inn, Piddlehinton; Tom Browns pub and the Saxon Arms in Stratton.

The guide is the UK's best-selling guide to pubs, bars and clubs where you can enjoy a great pint of traditional British beer. It highlights pubs selected by CAMRA members as places to savour good beers from small breweries as well as cask-conditioned lagers and some pubs are highlighted for serving real ciders too.

CAMRA was founded by four real ale enthusiasts in 1971 and today it represents beer drinkers and pub-goers across the UK.

It aims to promote the production, availability and consumption of quality real ale, cider and perry and pubs and clubs and social centres and part of the UK's cultural heritage. It supports and encourages the beer and pub trade by running beer festivals, lobbying government, running numerous awards and developing pub finders and guides.
