More than £7,000 has been donated to Dorchester's Casterbridge Rotary Club to help support the people of Ukraine.

Members were out in South Street on Wednesday and Saturday collecting and generous donations amounted to £2,896.14.

This brings the total collected so far by the club to £7,311.64.

A spokesman for the Casterbridge Rotary Club said: "The people of Dorchester are simply amazing. Donations ranged from some very large donations from group collections in workplaces to some young people of school age giving everything they had in their pocket."

The club will be out collecting again on Wednesday and Saturday.
