Three Dorchester museums have joined forces to create a family-friendly trail around the county town this Easter.

On Saturday, April 1, between 3pm and 7pm, you can visit Dorset Museum, the Keep Military Museum and Shire Hall Museum in Dorchester with just one ticket.

The Great Museums Easter Trail is a family-friendly event organised by the three museums. Visitors can discover Dorchester's fascinating history whilst exploring three of the best museums in the South West.

Matilda Manley, tourism development officer at Dorchester Town Council said: "We are so lucky in Dorchester to have three outstanding museums that all provide such different experiences.

"Visiting just one is a treat but when they come together for events like this and you can visit all three for a bargain ticket price, and take part in some Easter fun too, it is fantastic! Easter is a great time to visit Dorchester, there are brilliant events like this one, lots of free places to visit and lots of adventures that await."

An interactive trail will run across the three museums, along with additional Easter-themed activities taking place at The Keep Military Museum and Shire Hall Museum.

At the Keep Military Museum, visitors can make their own World War I style chocolate tin, ready to store your Easter chocolate, as well as other children's crafts throughout the museum.

At Shire Hall Museum, families will have the opportunity to do some egg decorating, ahead of the town's Egg Rolling event in Poundbury on Monday, April 10, as well as enjoy other Easter craft activities.

With kids going free and adult tickets at just £10, The Great Museums Easter Trail is set to be a brilliant afternoon for all the family.
