After a £16 million refurbishment, Dorset Museum re-opened in May, welcoming a new café.

The new eatery is provided by TASTE Café, the third in West Dorset with sister venues at TASTE Brasserie, also in Dorchester, and TASTE Café at Chesil Beach.

We went to give it a try and enjoy lunch at the venue.

It took a while to choose as there was also an extensive list of specials, but ultimately decided on two salads and a side - the roasted cauliflower, walnut and pomegranate salad, teriyaki noodle salad and paprika potato wedges.

All packed full of flavour, fresh and light!

The teriyaki noodle salad carried lots of oriental flavours, including ginger and coriander, and the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds completed the earthier flavours of cauliflower perfectly - it was probably our favourite. The wedges were not overwhelmed with paprika and very moreish.

The raspberry iced tea is great to wash it all down with!

Lunch is served from 11.30am to 4pm, with afternoon tea from 2pm to 4pm and breakfast from 9am to 11.30am.
