Walk of the week: A stroll in Symondsbury
By Lottie Welch

This week's walk is a 2.3mile loop around the Symondsbury countryside, taking just over an hour.
Start at Charles Cheshire Plants and Garden, opposite the turning for the Symondsbury Estate car park and, facing the nursery, follow the road to the left - not taking the track beside it.
Keep going until you come to a crossroads with two footpaths. Turn left following the blue sign for Axen Lodge.
After farm buildings on your right, you will come to another crossroads, turn left.
After another farm building on your right, stay left. Keep following this track and turn left at the church. Continue straight on this road and it will bring you back to the start.
This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. We use the OS Map app, which is very useful if you are out walking.
Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.
Please leave gates as you find them - if you opened it, close it.
Please keep dogs on leads around livestock.
