Every week we will be sharing a circular walk in and around our local area with directions and photos. We use the OS Map app, which is very useful if you are out walking.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be able to receive the walk first every Friday and be able to enjoy it over the weekend.
This week's walk is a small stroll along the River Frome, taking around 40 minutes and just under two miles. It is an easy walking route.
Start in Lubbecke Way and take the path to your left just before the road bridge and opposite the Red Cow Workshops building.
Go over the bridge and follow the path around to the right. Continue along the path and go through the gate into a field, following the path through the field.
At the end of the field go through the gate and over the bridge, walking alongside the river and follow the path and you will come out by a bridge on your left. Turn left and go over it.
Continue straight along this path, going through a metal gate and under a road bridge before following the path round to the left and through the gate to follow along the path.
Go through a metal gate over a small wooden bridge and continue following the path. When the path meets the road, turn left and walk along the pavement.
At the traffic lights and just before the bridge, there is a gate on your left. This route can be used to take you back to Lubbecke Way and the start by just following the path. However, this was too overgrown to walk so we went over the bridge and turn left onto Kings Road and walk through the play area and playing fields.
Re-join the pavement at the end of the playing fields and turn left onto Lubbecke Way, walking alongside the river back to the start.
This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.
